Natalie is now 13, in high school, and the kids love her. So does her dad, but her mother still loathe her. Cody goes to high school as well, but he still needs to live in the hospital. Doctors' have told Cody that his ADHD has gotten worse over the years. But Natalie is still by his side. According to Natalie, she's noticed her mother's daily beatings are getting more severe, Natalie now has a big scratch on her neck, to her shoulder. Even her legs are beaten up. She's afraid to sleep at home sometimes, so once in a while, she'll sleep at the mental hospital with Cody, if she's allowed. If she isn't, it's a Hell-filled night for her. One day, Natalie and Cody were walking home. Then, she turned to him and asked;
"Cody, do you think I'm beautiful?"
Cody was confused, but then he finally said;
"Yes, of course Nat. Why?" Natalie looked down at her feet.
"Well, I'm thinking of running away from home. Do you want to come along?"

In the morning, she found herself in bed. And her daddy was at her side smiling. Natalie smiled back. She hated her Mom, but her Dad she loved more than anything else. Natalie tried to lift her head, but there was too much pain. Natalie looked down at her arms; her Dad's hand was resting on it.
"Daddy, did you carry me into my room?" Her father nodded his head.
"Daddy, you love me right?"
Michael nodded his head, "Of course sweetie, why you say that?"
She started to tear up a little; "Well, do you ever think, I'll um find someone who loves me?" Michael was quiet, he loved his daughter, but he could never answer those sorts of questions. So he just nodded and left Natalie's room. She curled up in her bed and looked at her mirror across from her bed. Then Natalie held up her hand, and looked at her fingers; she noticed her nails were getting long now. She hasn't clipped them in a while. She was too hurt to care.

At around 11:00 at night, Natalie cleaned up some of the blood. And put on some fresh clothes. Then, the broken child went outside, on her way to see Cody again. It was cold, just like her mommy's heart. And she had no coat. A cold wind blew hard, and freezing rain was pouring down on the poor child's head. But then again, she didn't care; her life didn't matter to her. The cold, wet child made it to the mental hospital. "Excuse me? Can I see Cody Blackburn? I'm his friend" The nurse led her to Cody's room. Then, she knocked on the door, "Cody? Natalie's here." She looked down at Natalie, "Go ahead dear, he'll see you now." Nat walked in, "Hi Cody." Cody smiled; he lay in his bed, wearing his hospital gown. "Hello again, Natalie" His brown eyes filled with concern, "Nat! What happened to you? Your mom beat you again?" Natalie broke into tears again, "Yes! Cody what am I going to do? I can't live my life like this!" She collapsed on the floor.

Years later, Natalie is now six. But, her parents have changed mentally. Her mother Hannah now drinks and smokes. Her dad Michael only smokes, but he still takes part in Natalie's life. But, Hannah on the other hand beats her own daughter, and also verbally abuses her. Ever since Natalie turned four, Hannah has been leaving her daughter with emotional and bloody scars. Natalie is sitting in her room looking at her teddy bear, Lavender. She can hear her mom and dad fighting. Tears are running from her shiny black eyes. Her arms covered with bruises and scars. A big scratch on her face runs from her bottom eye lid to the end of her nose. Her beautiful, porcelain skin no longer clean from any pain. Painful burns covering her palms, face, and legs. Natalie was burned with an iron when she turned five, and her mother won't let her outside. She's also very thin and weak. The only thing that's still in one piece is her long black hair.
